Red Hot Beats: Remixed

With school and fall ball in full-swing, its time for another edition of REDHOTBEATS. This week DJ dew-itt shows you some of his favorite remixes of the year.

The first two songs I have for y'all today are remixes done by a group know as the Remix Artist Collective, or RAC.  Based out of Portland, OR and using "a unique blend of hip-hop and electro drum samples, analog synthesizers, melodic hooks, and originally performed instrumentals," these guys know to put together a quality remix. Here are two of my favorites:

The Shins- Sleeping Lessons (RAC mix)

The Temper Trap- Sweet Disposition (RAC mix)

Released on August 2nd of this year, Arcade Fire's The Suburbs has been received with acclaim from the public and critics alike.  The first single off of the album, titled Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains), is a catchy testament to the effects of suburban sprawl.  This edit, done by the artist Quaalude, adds in a solid kick and snare drum combo that's sure to make you wanna dance:

This final song, written by musical great Jackson Browne at the age of sixteen, and made famous by the haunting voice of Warhol superstar, Nico, These Days is an eerily catchy tune of missed opportunities and melancholy that semi-recently appeared in the 2001 Wes Anderson film, The Royal Tenenbaums.  The remix, however, done by Japan's  Shinichi Osawa is a much more up beat track that is just itching to be in a REDHOTBUFFS ski and snowboard video:

Any Wes Anderson fans out there?...
